A couple of years ago I had the realization that, as much as I loved my Urban Decay Naked palettes, I wasn’t using half of them because I couldn’t see them most of the time?♀️. That saying “out of sight, out of mind” can be very true when it comes to your makeup stash.
So I decided to buy the XL Makeup Forever magnetic palette (now discontinued) and fill it up with all my naked palettes (this was before Naked Heat came out). It was tricky and you definitely need to be very careful but it was very worth it ? When I open this palette now I can see all the different shades ✔️ and mix and match from any of the naked palettes?

My Tarte “Rainforest of the Sea” – Skin Twinkle lighting palette Vol 3 arrived today! ??
This is part of this week’s Sephora Weekly Wow sale, and is half price at only $25.
It is smooth and contains no glitter, which is very important to me because I don’t like glitter in my highlighters, I prefer a more natural looking glow.
Urban Decay sent out an email today advertising that their new Born to Run palette will be available for purchase from 6/12.
It’s being advertised as a palette especially thought for travel, with all the colours and finishes necessary to pull off any type of look while “on the run”, and features “21 Of-the-moment shades”. I can’t find the exact information on how many of the shadows are matte, but it looks like a few are matte while most of them are metallic/shimmer/shift shadows. It’s going to cost $49.
I personally started out in my makeup journey being a huge fan of Urban Decay, and I used to buy all their palettes back in the day, however I think I will pass on this one for several reasons: First, I don’t wear such strong oranges very often, and I already own palettes that contain orange-y shades (Tarte Toasted & Flirt, ABH Subculture, for example). Second, I don’t really like hot pink eyeshadow on me, and I already have some from previous Urban Decay palettes (Vice 1, Vice 2, and Vice 3 all contain pink shadows). Third, the rest of the shades in the palette are colours I pretty much already have from other palettes, both UD and from other brands.
However, the palette itself is beautiful, and if I didn’t already own Vice 1, 2 and 3, I might have decided to purchase this one.
These are the rest of gorgeous photos of the Urban Decay Born to Run Palette that they posted on their website (The photos do not belong to me and are property of Urban Decay):

Now that Macy’s 10 Days of Glam event is over, they’re offering $10 off every $50 you spend on cosmetics and fragrances. This is a good way to still save on items you may have missed out on, or items that never go on sale!
To make it even better, Ebates currently has 10% CashBack at Macy’s! If you are new to Ebates and you sign up through my link, you will receive an extra $10 bonus when you make your first purchase.
This beauty from the Macy’s 10 Days of Glam 50% off promotion arrived today!
I tried to take the photo to look as close as possible to how the colours look in person.
I normally wouldn’t have bought this, at least not at full price, however now that I have it I think it looks better in person than it did on the online photos, and I’m very glad I got it.
My only concern with this palette so far is that the first shadow on the top left, “Cube”, looks as if it has been previously swatched/used. It has that grainy “swatched” feel to it in the shape of a circle, you can see where the corners of the shadow aren’t disturbed, which is consistent with my theory. The rest of the shadows look undisturbed though, and my Macy’s doesn’t carry this brand here, so I’ve decided to sanitize that eyeshadow and keep the palette instead of going through the hassle of exchanging it.
I’ll be able to form more of an opinion on the actual palette itself after I’ve had a chance to play with it.
My order from May 28 FINALLY arrived. It took much longer than it usual to get here.
The contents I received for the “FREE 8 Pc Deluxe Sample Mystery Gift with any $50 online purchase” bag are:
- Anastasia Brow Wiz 0.024g in Taupe (basically sample sized)
- Smashbox X-Rated mascara, (travel size)
- Matrix Biolage Color Last Aqua-gel conditioner, 1 fl oz. (travel size)
- NARS Audacious mascara 0.12 oz. (travel size)
- Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Opal, 6ml
- Becca Backlight Priming Filter, 6 ml
- IT Cosmetics Brow Power universal brow pencil in Universal Taupe, 0.05g
- Clinique Moisture Surge face cream, 0.21 oz. (deluxe size)
None of my samples are repeats compared to the last Mystery Gift Bag they offered on April 3rd. I’m not really blown away considering I have tried all these products before and both brow products are Taupe colours and my hair colour is very dark brown so they won’t work for me. I have like 5 other Clinique moisture surge minis exactly like this one from other previous GWPs, and I already own the full size and several minis of the Becca primer. However, free is free, and I was placing an order that day regardless of the gift, so it’s always nice to have a bonus no matter what it is!
