Pat McGrath Labs – Sublime Perfection Foundation (Dry skin review)
I was incredibly excited and grateful to be sent this beautiful foundation to test!
I’ve tested it for 3 weeks because I wanted to make a very honest, proper review.
- The bottle is SUPER luxurious, heavy and the most beautiful I’ve ever had.
- This is designed to be applied with your fingers and has to be set with powder. When applied with a brush, I didn’t achieve a seamless blend. When not set with powder, it moved around my face all day and settled in lines.
- When applied as directed, the finish is a very natural, sheer coverage which you can build up a little, if done carefully.
- The formula is very fluid and liquid.
Overall, I didn’t find this to be a great fit for me because I don’t enjoy using setting powder. I have dry skin and find that powders always find a way of emphasizing any dryness around my mouth and nose.
The coverage is very natural looking, but not very dense. I think someone with normal skin who enjoys a natural look and likes finishing powder would love this foundation!
I received the shade Light 2, which I would classify as “Very Fair”. I can wear it, but I think my perfect shade would be Light 3 (my typical foundation shade is Fair Neutral).
Here are some swatches comparing the Pat McGrath Labs foundation in Light 2, to the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in Fair, and the CYO Lifeproof Foundation in 101:
