I have to be honest, I’m usually not a big user of priming products for my face, so when I first received this fabulous gift from Pixi I thought I would not like it. However, I always am willing to try any product and be proven wrong.

And fortunately, this set did just that. For me, having dry skin, priming my face really just means having a very hydrated and smooth base.

  • The Priming Oil is not only cool to look at with its 3 layers, but it nourishes my face and leaves it beautifully smooth and ready for makeup.
  • Then I follow with the Brightening Perfector, which really gives my face a beautiful blurring and illuminating effect. I only apply this to my forehead and cheeks which is where I need it most.
  • The Undereye Brightener is basically a colour corrector which goes nicely under my concealer and helps mask my blue toned veins/circles better than concealer alone.
  • The Lip Brightener is the least “necessary” in this line in my opinion, however it makes applying lipstick to dry lips a much nicer experience without being overly creamy like some lip balms are, which can change the opacity of your lipstick.

✔️Overall, I can’t believe how much I actually love this line. I love Vitamin C for my face because it really helps keep my complexion clear and radiant even without makeup.
I would definitely repurchase at least the Oil and Brightening Perfector.

Pixi Lip Icing swatches in Parfait Bonbon Sorbet

  • These lip glosses smell sweet and delicious.
  • They are sparkly but not ridiculously so – once you put them on, they mostly look shimmery on the lips. You can dress these up or down – Alone for a more natural look or over your lipstick to give it a beautiful shimmery glow.
  • The colours are very wearable. At first I thought “Sorbet” was too blue to be a lip gloss for my taste, however after applying on the lips, I can say it looks more like a soft lavender and pink shimmer.
  • These are infused with rose hip & marula oil, and they feel super hydrating and comfortable on the lips!
  • I literally have no negatives to say about these Lip Icings ?

Do you prefer matte or shiny lips in the cold season? For me it’s moist shiny lips all winter.

PIXI Beauty sent me this beautiful package with some of their Skintreats to try!

I used the Pixi Peel & Polish last night in place of my usual exfoliators. I have very dry skin and I only exfoliate a maximum of 2x a week.

My skin was feeling a little textured and slightly rough, so it was a great opportunity to put this product to the test. It only takes 2 minutes to use, so it’s very convenient for nights when you want to do something extra for your face but you also want to go to sleep.

I accidentally left it on for 5 minutes, but thankfully suffered no repercussions!
It has little particles which will provide you with extra exfoliation if you choose to massage for 30 seconds when you apply this peel. I did this and when I rinsed it all off I could definitely feel that my face was less textured than before.

I’ve never used a peel&polish hybrid but I have to say I really do like how quick it is and the results I got!

This morning I used the Pixi Glow Mud Mask. I had never used a Pixi mask before, but I love their Glow Tonic so much that I was really excited to use this mask.

I applied it thinly with a mask spreading tool I have from Peter Thomas Roth (when I use my hand I always end up using too much product!). I left it on for 15 minutes during which my dogs were scared of me.

After I washed it off, my face felt tighter (in a good way) and I also looked younger and more radiant, which I know is a temporary effect but I still loved it!

I followed it with my Glow Tonic, which is recommended, and I will say I didn’t dry my face out (which some mud masks do for me). I’ve really enjoyed these 2 products so far and I will for sure repurchase the Glow Mud Mask when I run out.

UPDATE:

I have now also used the Pixi T-Zone Peel Off Mask. I made the mistake of applying it to my chin in addition to the T-Zone, and I ended up having to wash it off in that spot because it wouldn’t peel properly off my chin. That’s probably why it was designed only for use on the T-Zone! *facepalm*

I did enjoy using it and peeling it off, but due to the colouring that’s in the mask (a pretty pearlescent pastel green), I ended up with shimmery particles all over my face after using it, which I did not enjoy.

However it did work well for peeling dirt off my pores, and I don’t mind washing my face after using it to remove the undesired shimmer.

I am so grateful to Pixi for sending me legitimately good products that I actually enjoy!
I’ll try the rest of the products they gifted me in this package soon and let you know what I think.

This photo captures how I’ve been feeling about Pixi Beauty lately, because I’ve been definitely feeling the #pixilove.

Out of these two palettes I immediately was more drawn to Natural Beauty for its cooler neutral tones. But after using them both I’ve been surprised by liking Reflex Light more!

I think as much as both are beautiful, the warmer tones in Reflex Light are just more flattering on me and play better with my brown eyes.

  • I enjoy that the mattes in “Natural Beauty” show up well but are not overpoweringly pigmented – I like to be able to build my mattes without making a monumental mistake if I apply too much from the get-go
  • I wish that “Reflex Light” had some mattes in it, but I don’t mind using mattes from other palettes, and in addition to that I actually experimented with some of the deeper shades here as a crease colour, and they surprisingly did work and finished my look even though they’re not mattes. I guess the fact that they don’t have sparkles in them make them wearable in that manner!
  • The shimmers in both palettes are very pigmented and beautiful, and the only shade I experienced fallout from was “Metal Mauve” (top row center shade from Natural Beauty palette) and this might be due to the fact that palette arrived broken (I pressed it back but it’s still not the same consistency as original). All the other shimmers have performed beautifully and stayed put for me.
  • My absolute favourite shades out of all are “Vintage Gold” & “Brilliant Bronze” from Reflex Light.
  • If you have brown eyes like me and aren’t sure which one to get, I’d personally recommend Reflex Light! But of course, when in doubt, wait for a sale and get both!

Thanks to Pixi for sending me this beautiful package! The more products I try from them, the more I like them as a brand. If you know me, you know I’m honest about my opinions regardless how much I paid or didn’t pay.

If you have never tried anything from them I’d recommend you try their Glow Tonic first because that’s what got me hooked!

New Pixi Beauty Reflex Light Shadow Palette

While I was gone in London I found out that I had a beautiful package waiting for me at home, compliments of Pixi.

I have never before owned an eye shadow palette from this brand and I must say it’s absolutely beautiful. I just arrived at home sick again from my transatlantic flight, so I will save my full review of this palette until after I’ve used it more.
Sadly, the other palette in the package arrived broken ? so I will have to try to clean it up and repress it before I can test it too.

This palette features 12 pigmented shades in metallic finishes, in a range of specially curated warm colours that catch the light. It’s absolutely beautiful!

For now all I can say is that this palette is looking amazing and these shades are very wearable for any occasion, although with this specific palette you might need to bring out some mattes of your own to finish your look.

I will have a more complete review up in a few days!
